Joseph V. (Joe) Popolo, Jr. is CEO of Freeman, the world’s leading partner for integrated marketing solutions for live engagements.
Joe joined Freeman as Assistant Treasurer in 1997, was promoted to Vice President, Finance and Treasurer in 1999, and named President in 2001. He was promoted to CEO in 2008. Mr. Popolo holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the Boston College Carroll School of Management, and a master's degree in business administration, with concentrations in economics and finance, from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Mr. Popolo is active in the hospitality and events industries, serving on the CEO Roundtable of the U.S. Travel Association. He’s previously served as a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and PCMA Foundation’s Board of Trustees. In 2013, Ernst & Young jointly awarded Joe their Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Southwest Area North region along with Don Freeman, Chairman and Carrie Freeman-Parsons, Vice Chair.
